Frequently Asked Questions

What PPE do I need for abrasive blasting operations?

A full blasting setup typically requires head and face protection (such as the NOVA 3 ® Blasting Helmet or a Z-Link respirator), a heavy duty blast suit, blasting gloves, and blasting shoes. A clean air supply via an airline filter and breathing hose is also essential when using supplied-air respirators.

What is the difference between the Z-Link respirator variants?

Each Z-Link variant is designed for a specific risk environment. The Z-Link Tychem® 2000 Respirator with Face Seal offers chemical resistance, the Z-Link Radiant Heat Respiratorversion protects against high-temperature environments, and the Z-Link Respirator with Zytec FR Shoulder Cape is ideal for operations involving sparks and flame exposure. Our team can help you identify the right configuration for your application.

How do I choose the right coating thickness gauge?

The right gauge depends on your substrate type (ferrous, non-ferrous, or both) and the coating system you're working with. Our team can help you identify the most appropriate model based on your application and the standards you need to comply with.

Do I need a gas monitor even if I'm working outdoors?

Yes. Gas hazards are not limited to confined spaces. Combustible gases and toxic substances can accumulate in partially enclosed areas, trenches, and low-lying outdoor zones. The GX4 Gas Monitor provides continuous real-time detection regardless of your work environment.

Can I purchase individual items or only full kits?

All products are available individually. Whether you need to replace a single component or equip a full crew, contact our team and we'll put together the right solution for your requirements.

Are GVS products compliant with international safety standards?

Yes. GVS PPE products are certified to the relevant international standards for personal protective equipment, including EN and ANSI/ISEA norms depending on the product and target market. Standards compliance is specified on each individual product page.
